Percy Cerff was Co-Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of CorporateAdvisor.org, and an international finance, government relations, and strategic advisory executive with more than five decades of experience supporting cross-border ventures, joint ventures, complex negotiations, and high-level stakeholder engagement worldwide.
A true international businessman, Percy worked across the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the former Soviet sphere, advising on global finance, government relations, legal and business services, and major projects involving oil, gold, real estate, and international development. Throughout his career, he built a reputation for bringing together business leaders, investors, developers, and public-sector stakeholders to advance complex opportunities across markets and jurisdictions.
Percy previously served as CEO of Hanover Merchant Bankers and also worked with Rothschild as a merchant banker in Frankfurt, Germany. His background included strategic advisory, international business development, productivity-focused turnaround work, and leadership in ventures requiring both commercial vision and government-facing experience.
His career also included involvement in public policy, political, philanthropic, and humanitarian initiatives. He served on President Reagan's Private Sector Survey on Cost Control, often known as the Grace Commission, and was involved in liaison-related efforts during the George H.W. Bush era in connection with South America and Africa. He was also associated with Republican political circles, including work connected to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
A distinctive aspect of Percy's international career was his work in the Soviet Union and later in post-Soviet countries during periods of historic political and economic transition. He worked with Gorbachev, Yeltsin, and other senior leaders on government advisory, development, restructuring, and productivity-related initiatives, including public-sector projects and broader economic transformation. This rare experience reflected his ability to navigate complex, high-stakes environments and build relationships at the highest levels across changing political and economic systems.
In addition to his finance and government relations work, Percy was connected with initiatives involving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the D.A.R.E. program, and development-related relationships with recognized names such as Shapell, Del Webb, Goldrich and Kest, and Budweiser. His background reflected a rare combination of international business reach, political awareness, and relationship-driven execution across both the private and public sectors.
His academic and institutional background included studies and affiliations associated with USC, UCLA, Lund University, Stanford, the London School of Economics, the University of Geneva, the University of Florence, institutions in Moscow, Heidelberg University, and Karolinska Institutet.
Percy Cerff is remembered as a global connector and trusted advisor – someone comfortable operating across finance, diplomacy, development, and international business at the highest levels. His leadership, relationships, and contributions remain an important part of CorporateAdvisor.org's history.
